This Half of Reality

I keep coming back to this theme that somehow life is so much more vast and unsearchable than I think. Truth is so complex and multifaceted. The gospel is an unending story of redemption that might never be completely resolved.

I have questions--are there answers? Are we supposed to live in mystery? What is the purpose of this ambiguity and uncertainty? Will we ever live in complete understanding, feel the clarity?

“For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. . . . For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I see in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known” (1 Corinthians 13:9-10, 12).

Where we live now, we only see the truth in part. We only see one aspect of reality clearly. Beyond, it is dim. But one day we will see face to face the fullness of all reality. May this hope guide us as the unanswered questions surround us—as we look at this world and only see this half of reality.
